Wednesday Mornings, Spring Term, 12 Week Course, Jewellery & Silversmithing (2)

Join Teresa Crickmar this January for a twelve-week jewellery & small-scale silversmithing course. Due to the small class sizes of six your tutor can support you at your pace and skill level. Your friendly tutor will guide you through all the basics including suggested projects with step-by-step instructions to more advanced personal projects.

Inspiration for projects is offered beforehand, however, students are encouraged to work creatively and design their pieces for themselves, and loved ones, or to sell. Weekly demonstrations and handouts are given and include all the basics as well as techniques such as piercing metal, Keum Boo, granulation, fold forming, and soldering techniques. Optional half-termly group projects are suggested and have included sand casting, fabricating a brooch pin, forged bangle, and enamelling.

Refreshments are offered throughout the class including sweet treats, cold drinks, tea, fresh coffee, and a vast selection of herbal teas.
